As reported by the Gazette, Monday (01/02/2012), the motor is still a prototype, named Sora. In Japanese Sora means sky. The manufacturer is Lito Green Motion by founder Jean-Pierre Legris. "(Feature seats) was first applied in the world," Legris said proudly.
Another feature commonly applied in electric car that is regenerative braking (braking power used to charge batteries) is also installed.
The electric motor itself is quite powerful. Acceleration from 0-100 km per hour takes only 4.5 seconds with a maximum speed of 175 km per hour. Interestingly, the motor can reach a distance of 300 km (with an average speed of 48 km per hour) before the battery runs out.
Legris was proud because the motor is worth about USD 400 million has been ordered in over 50 countries. The first person who will receive Sora is a Swiss citizen who is an enthusiast of electric vehicles.
